“Back in 1982 I volunteered to give blood and they asked me if I would consider giving platelets, as someone needed them immediately at the time. So, I’ve been giving platelets ever since — I’m coming up on 16 gallons over the past five years. They treat me so well at Community Blood Bank, I just enjoy giving as much as they enjoy having me there. After a while I started bringing my daughter April who hopes to give blood when she’s a little older.”
