Kathi & Paul Klopfenstein “Sky High School is a continuation, alternative high school in Yucca Valley. We have approximately 135 students. I tell my homeroom class that giving blood is giving life. My students take on the task of publicity for the whole school and it’s the peer-encouragement that makes our blood drives a success.” “I’ve been at Coachella Valley High School for 33 years and I’ve run the blood drives for about 27 years. We have about 2,800 kids on campus. I teach freshman biology and part of our program is that students must do a number of hours of community service in order to graduate, so I involve my freshman classes in the preparation and promotion of the blood drives. It’s a tremendous experience for them.”
