Sandra Marsden “I taught high school for 22 years and
after I retired, I missed the students because I really
enjoyed what I did. It's fun to get back out and
volunteer to work at the high school blood drives for
Community Blood Bank. I also believe it's
important to give back to the community in which you
live, so this was a perfect niche for me.” "When the students come in and they're a
little nervous, I get them a bottle of water and sit
with them to calm them down. They're just so eager
to give and we remind them they're saving lives.
We've had up to 200 register to give blood. It's a
long, tiring day but it's fun seeing the kids and it's
right up my alley."
