Sponsoring a blood drive!

Help show your pride by sponsoring a blood drive at your school, workplace, church or civic organization.

General requirements for a blood drive:

To ensure a successful and productive blood drive, here are a few suggestions to make things go as smoothly as possible. Please remember that the enthusiasm and organizational skills of the blood drive chairperson are the biggest keys to success!

>>Coordinate the date and time of your drive with the Community Blood Bank donor recruiter.

>>Arrange with your CBB donor recruiter to advertise your blood drive with posters, radio, TV or newspaper coverage. We will also help you get the word out to as many people as possible!

>>Circulate sign-up sheets early to sign up potential donors. These sheets are very important as they help us staff your blood drive correctly, which allows us to process all of your donors within a minimal time period.

>>About one week prior to your blood drive, confirm your sign-ups.

>>Make final arrangements for your blood drive site location and confirm with your Community Blood Bank donor recruiter.

>>Be available during the blood drive to answer questions and encourage extra donors who may not have signed up.

Specific site requirements:

Listed below are specific site requirements for either an inside draw, or for a draw hosted on our bloodmobile.

>>A large, well ventilated room with heat and air conditioning.

>>Good overhead lighting.

>>Electricity, running water and available restrooms.

>>Tables, chairs and trash cans. If the room is carpeted, please let your Community Blood Bank donor recruiter know so that we will bring floor covering.

>>8 donors per hour/minimum of 3 hours.
[24 donors = 3 hours] [32 donors = 4 hours] [40 donors = 5 hours]

>>Assign a 3 to 4 hour drive and lengthen as sign-ups increase.

Bloodmobile requirements

>>Bloodmobile measures 37ft long by 8ft wide by 12ft tall.

>>Level parking for at least 6 parking spaces.

>>Parking site roped off before blood drive.

>>10-12 donors per hour/minimum of 3 hours.

>>Allow for travel and setup time in your drive schedule.

Don't forget, your drive can be combined with surrounding businesses to help increase the total number of blood donors!
